Gifts for people who cook
Someone who cooks properly already owns the obvious things, and the gadget aisle is mostly aimed at people who do not. The single-purpose device is the classic miss: it gets used twice and then lives at the back of a cupboard being resented.
Buy in one of two directions instead. Either an upgrade to something they use constantly and have never replaced, or an ingredient good enough that they would not buy it for themselves. Both get used. Neither needs storing.

Cooks are specific, which means the good ideas come out mid-conversation and are forgotten by the weekend. Bodhi keeps them: text the idea in, and it is on their list when you need it.
